Having Family Nearby…

My son has moved in while he establishes himself back in the northwest. I hadn’t seen him in a little over two years. I’ve never found anything to ease the missing part of missing your child no matter their age. I remember his first time to summer camp. I was beside myself with worry. When the bus got back and he walked off the bus I realized that is was indeed a good decision to let him experience summer camp.

We are three siblings in my family and have lived apart forever it seems. Since my mom passed away a few years ago we are re-establishing ourselves as a family unit. My brother (younger) has moved to within a couple of hrs drive and now my son is actually here. All three of us love the Pacific Northwest. My brother & I are both close to the ocean. (It really is true that living near the ocean has many health benefits.) My sister has lived in Hawaii for very many years. I look forward to all of us gathering together.

There really is nothing like family.

I’ve always had a deep fascination for elephants.

For as long as I can remember I’ve been in awe of these mighty beasts. Not just for their size and abilities but for their grace as well. Such an enormous animal moving slowly, plodding along. My father, when he was alive dabbled in oil paintings. As an early adult he painted a black and white oil painting of an elephant and gave it to me. The image was looking from the back side with those massive ears exposed just a bit on either side. How I wish I still had that painting.

Over the years I have collected a few elephants made of different materials. This one was gifted to me. It’s carved from a piece of driftwood. I think it is a fabulous piece.

I’ve just added a small magnesite elephant to my Etsy shop which is accessible here. I had to keep one of these for myself.

Henry has had a rough morning today. We’re pretty sure he has an obstruction, probably from a doggie toy. I got terribly scared earlier because he had this really intense, I don’t feel good look on his face.

Hopefully the vet will be able to figure this out easily. I sure don’t want him to have to go through surgery. He’s 10 1/2. Henry has been part of the family (pack) for about 9 1/2 years. He is my sweetie pie. He’s a (mini) dachshund through and through. Pretty much runs the house here. He’s very sweet and super smart. Not only does he sing to TV show sound tracks (in doggie language of course) but he and June have recently started to talk with little throaty sounds. I haven’t figured what the sound rhythms mean yet but that’s o.k. It’s just awesome that they do it. In fact Henry and June both talk in their sleep chattering out these specific sounds. Can’t help but wonder who it is they see in their dreams that they are chatting it up with.

Well, it’s almost time for us to head out.

It’s a beauty day here.

We get close to 100 inches of rain here per year so we’ve learned to appreciate the beautiful days when they arrive. This is SW Washington State only moments from the Pacific. Couldn’t ask for a more perfect place to live.

Made these bracelets last evening. Red Magnesite and Sodalite stones with lava beads. Definitely a customer favorite. Sodalite enhances mental performance; quietens an overactive mind and helps stabilize emotions. It encourages calmness. When placed on the third eye, Magnesite enhances imagery and visualization. It assists in producing an opening of the crown chakra. It also opens the heart chakra and stimulates heartfelt love.

The bracelets can be used with your favorite essential oil.

Welcome. Awezome Sauce, the Journey Here.

I’ve had this blog for a while and am excited to finally be here.

I design and sell jewelry and beads online. I started around 2003 on eBay. I remember my first listing. I was literally shaking out of fear the first time I added something. I had a blast. I’ve traveled around to a few different places online all the while observing and learning.

I plan to showcase my jewelry in this blog. I think it’ll be fun to share and chat and explore with others that have been on this journey or just want to purchase something new. As I move along I’d like to offer video, tutorials and other things you may enjoy.
